Cosimo has many diverse influences in his life, which contribute to his playing and approach to music. They are not all music related but are nonetheless very important.
The following books have made him live and play better: The Alchemist (P. Coelho), The Living Buddha (D. Ikeda) Dune (F. Herbert), all the books by J. Amado and the Dylan Dog and Nathan Never comics to relax.
Cosimo explains that the Buddhist philosophy and practice keeps him going and forever surprises him. This is one of his favourite quotes:
A strong-willed or courageous person is always the master of his own heart. Therefore, he fears nothing, is defeated by nothing, and shrinks from nothing. As the Gosho states, “The wise will rejoice and the foolish will retreat”. No matter what might happen, a courageous person advances against any obstacle like a fierce, raging wave. He is, with head held high, confident like the sun, king of the heavens, shining above the clouds.”
He is inspired by and takes influence from the playing of the late James Brown, Steve Jordan, Tony Williams, Stewart Copeland, Bill Evans, The Meters, Steve Ferrone to name a few.
